Everything to know about me, and then some!

Because let’s be real, it’s fun to lay it all out there!

From Rural Roots to Mountain Peaks

From rural Wisconsin roots to adventurous Colorado mountains, with big city Chicago dreams in between, my life has been a colorful tapestry of experiences. These diverse backgrounds have given me a relatable perspective, enabling me to connect with a variety of people and small businesses.

Early Foundations in Client Service

My career in client service started at 14, roller skating to deliver hot dogs at a drive-in restaurant called Dog N’ Suds! That first job, and many hospitality positions in the years that followed, laid the foundation for my dedication to serving clients with enthusiasm and integrity, and most importantly, focusing on client satisfaction.

Academic and Personal Growth

I began my college journey at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, as a Mathematics Major, however graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology, enriched by courses in Psychology and Philosophy. This blend of analytical and creative disciplines reflects my balanced approach to problem-solving and has been a cornerstone of my personal style in both business and life.

Professional Milestones

For the decade following university, my career took off at Catalina Marketing, based out of Chicago, IL, where I worked as a Media Consultant for leading CPG manufacturers. After much success at Catalina, I moved to Nielsen, a premier market research firm. There, I continued to assist Fortune 500 companies with their marketing strategies, leveraging data and analytics to maximize their marketing dollars. These roles and the decade of professional experience honed my skills in client service, marketing, and software mastery.

A Shift Towards Purpose

In 2017, I left my corporate career to become a mother. This transition allowed me to explore my creative talents, leading to the discovery of my passion for web design. Helping a friend build a website for her artwork sparked a new career path, culminating in the establishment of Rise Up Web Design in mid-2021.

NEW SMALL BUSINESS OWNER

In my first year of business, I completed nine websites across various industries and became a recognized Squarespace Circle Member. The joy of meeting passionate people and contributing to their business success drives me. I aim to collaborate with like-minded individuals who uplift others through their services, art, or nourishment. My purpose has finally aligned with my passion, and I’m thrilled to offer my services to those in need.

Beyond Web Design

When I’m not designing websites, you’ll find me laughing with my husband, goofing off with my two kids, dancing to live music, snowboarding, mountain biking, pickle ballin’, planning my next international trip, or cooking up new recipes. I also run a successful Etsy shop selling lyrical home decor. I cherish engaging in cosmic conversations, contemplating life's meaning, and savoring beautiful shared moments with my friends and family.
